For cat lovers, their feline friends are much more than just pets. They're family members who have a big say in how the household is run. We asked the ICanHasCheezburger community to tell us all about the most important guidelines that their cats have set in their households, and as usual, our awesome community members did not disappoint. Some cats demand a strict feeding schedule, while others insist on being the only pet in the house. Many have claimed specific spots in the home, such as a cozy sunbeam or a comfy armchair, that are off-limits to their human counterparts. Understandable.

But it's not just about rules, cats also bring plenty of joy and entertainment to their households. Some love to play fetch or chase toys, while others prefer to curl up in their human's lap for a cozy cuddle session. And of course, the most important guideline of all is to always give your cat plenty of love and attention, because these independent creatures still crave human companionship. Cats truly are the rulers of their households, and their devoted human companions are more than happy to oblige to their impurrtant guidelines.

    Cat - Marge Mannion Well, she's just finished the 1st chapter of the manual. So far, an important rule is to sit in the recliner on her command so she can nap. She has a very demanding meow for that one. Another is that the treats must be given after she gets her medicine. Feeding time is as often as she wants. All chairs are my chairs even if you are sitting in it. You must move over on the chair so I can wedge in beside you. You must then brush me. The pillow next you is mine plus 3/4 of the bed.     Cat - Amy K-Genung It's her place. If she bangs the cupboard doors and I say "No! Stop it !!!", she will continue to bang them louder. If I raise my hand and say "stop !", she will smack the cupboard door, and walk between my feet (1 am disabled, unsteady on my feet), taking her time. No fear.
